This is the second little project. This little piece is a practice on pin wheels. To top it off I have a blue chennile ribbon wrapped around.Beading fills in . This was fun to stitch.blues

I am so glad to see a new year on this earth. I thank God for that.

Have been working on small projects. Hopeing to get some new things going soon. I see so many wonderful work by so many ladies. I want to be a part of that.

This month I have tried a few embroidery pieces as samples I guess.  Below is the first one. img_0745dragThe two dragonflies are in cross stitch. The

threads are DMC. Flowers are stitched with #5 DMC small beads are added. The pattern is my own. Had hoped to do three in a row. But ran out of space. Will post a second and third piece.

Merry Christmas to all my family and friends.  Keep God in your Christmas.

This is the last month for the year long Take It Further embroidery challenge. I have tried to keep up, but I am sure I didn’t get everything done.

The topic of this month is Generosity. What is it? Webster says noble minded, willing to give or share: unselfish; large; ample. I am sure we all feel some form of Generosity in our life.

I have changed so much in my life, that the word means something different each time I think about it.

I no longer give gifts on Christmas, family is scattered and really I would not be able to give them anything that they all ready have, maybe 2 or 3. My Grandkids are now getting to the point that money is a bigger gift so they can get their own stuff! So that is what I have done. I live on a small retirement ,so I need to be aware of spending.

After all is said and done, I still feel the need to give. While surfing one day I found a blog that was interesting, it’s called The Children’s Cup. They are wonderful Christian people who are living their lives with children who are orphans, and also victums of HIV from birth.

The members of the group, feed many children, try to help them with school. On and On. These people are more then generous. I have been helping with support and it is the best gift that has returned more times then expected. I would love to share more. But you can see for yourself. Just google the Children’s Cup.This is in Africa.

Well that is my feelings on Generousity.

Below will be the project for December

little-houseThis little embroidry is done on Aida cloth. the house and sky are color pencil. The garden are several types of ribbon and threads. Glass beads in shape of flowers have been added.Size about 5X8 inches. The idea is not original in Elegant Stitches by Judith Baker Montano she has a cottage that is lovely. I decided to do my version

To connect to the topic. I think the little house is for my sons who will always see this as home.

I have been working on different  small projects that are the result of my SSLessons with Sharon B. ss-practice                                         This little work /practice piece is done on Aida Cloth the threads are all cottons, some are size 5. and others regular 6 ply. The stitch is straight cross stitch. I have given each two or three layers . This fabric had been too close to a dye mix, so it has happy orange, yellow Setacolor.  at the top are wheels or fans made with buttonhole stitches. The couching is a brown chennile. Have used both glass and wooden beads. The key is Grungboard painted and tacked down. I like the look of the Herringbone stitches layered in three colors. comments appreciated.

I have been working on things for the class. That now it is over I need to find a new project. So today I am trying to rap up my unfinished TIF months. I think for October was to describe or tell how you sue your workspace. I posted one photo of the doorway to my little room. will try to finish. It’s not a pretty site. So if clutter is not your thing skip this part.

The dresser contains all kinds of sewing supplies and on top are CDs

This dresser sits across from the door. It is full of embelishments, patterns lots of threads and “stuff:

several purse and bags hang on the pulls   d  on top are several hundred CDs. plus I just can’t throw away a card someone sends, they are in the basket.

Next to that is the computer.

The piece in this post was a planned    design.

img_0639-sketch-and-copy This is the design I planned to use. I charted my design onto the fabric. I did change the colors. I used purple and blue. The two colors come in many shades. I have used some that are very bright/dark down to pale lavenders and blues. Bead have been applied.

I did several under stitches of cross stitch and a fan design using buttonhole stitches. The top layer of stitches are also buttonholeand lots of French knots. The design is left open and outlined.
