The one lesson I really enjoyed; is on color use. There was a part of an exercise that asked you to use a group of WORDS (listed in the  book) and use fabric or paint chips in one inch squares to define the words.  Do a paste up in a journal. I usually use fabric scraps for things like this. But had never thought of paint chips. Several years ago, one DIL and I were going to stores and places that handled paint. I would pick up a card from the paint store with various colors. Did that for some time. Ended up with a nice selection. Chained them together and have used that quite often img_0437paint-chips.jpgto see colors and blend. But didn’t think of cutting squares and paste-ups. Wonderful idea. And the stores give them so you can look for paint colors you can use.
